Caribbean Fashion Week is the biggest and most anticipated fashion week within the caribbean with international guests,models,fashion buyers,industry executives,media and designers. This was my debut showing and I was terrified but anxious and excited all at once. I had just finished my last semester of University studying Marketing and International Business and had only 3 weeks to put a collection of at least 15 outfits together with no formal training in fashion designing but I was determined to make a great impression.
I drew inspiration from Fergie's song "GLAMOROUS"....I wanted glitz, glamour, sophistication but still young, sexy and fun.I themed the collection using yellow black and white combinationsand was so estatic to see the response to my line....right off the runway I had 2 pieces booked for a photoshoot for Ocean Style magazine.
It was definitely a task to put it together in such a short period and with little help but i pushed forward because of my passion for fashion and dream to be a fashion designer.
